The Process
1. Consultation
First we set up a phone call or email to discuss the project and personalization including boundaries, points of interest, and specific locations or icons wanted.
2. Boundary
Next, we send out a draft of the geography and boundaries to be approved. Edits can be made if needed.
3. Icons & Revisions
Lastly, we add icons on the map and send the final design for approval. One round of edits can be made. Once the design is confirmed, the totes are printed and shipped!
The Fine Print
All designs are property of Maptote. We will send you artwork for approval before we print. We encourage input and feedback, though redesigns may lead to additional fees. We will notify you before any additional fees are applied. Ink color is the choice of the client and we may match any pantone color. Turnaround times are approximate and must be scheduled and confirmed with Maptote.
50% deposit is required upon commencement of design. Remainder is due before the totes are shipped. This is mandatory for all custom orders. Orders ship from our studio in Brooklyn, NY and shipping costs are not included within our pricing. All our totes are made in the USA – local to us in Brooklyn, NY!

- For maps, what city, town, or neighborhood would you like to depict?
- Cities, streets, neighborhoods, and other locations you would like to highlight -whether with text, and icon, or illustration!
- Important landmarks, events, plants, animals, and other imagery that are iconic to your location!
- Any logos or branding you would like to incorporate. Keep in mind we cannot use business names (beyond your own) without written permission from the business, however we can use something to represent them!
- What ink colors do you have in mind? We can match most Pantone Coated colors, or you can see what we use in our own line for inspo!
