Back in 2008, Maptote was busting out of our apartment. Luckily, we met Steffi Lynen of Winter Water Factory at a holiday market as she was selling her kids’ line at the table next to us. She mentioned she had extra room in her studio in the Gowanus, and we jumped at the opportunity to share it with her. We had a place to grow Maptote and share a space with another business that we looked up to and adored- all while making great friends!
We had Max and Naomi during the days of the shared studio, so it was convenient to split a space with an amazing kids’ clothing line. Not only did the Winter Water Factory clothing become their loved treasure, but they also got to do some modeling for them. Here are some photos from the old days:
We love that Winter Water Factory makes their clothes ethically using 100% certified organic cotton and cuts and sews them locally- literally just a few blocks from their studio. It’s apparent how hard Steffi and Todd work to make the best quality childrens’ clothes.
Max and Naomi are excited for the opportunity to model again, this time for our very own Maptote x Winter Water Factory collaboration! They even helped come up with ideas for our NYC-themed design. We are about to launch a new Fall collection with Winter Water Factory that includes sweatshirts, sweat pants, long sleeve tees and more! Stay tuned to our social media and website for more information on the drop.
