Fun Facts about The Hamptons:

  • In July 2008 an unidentified creature washed ashore in Montauk and was labeled the Montauk Monster. Recent reports suggest that the 'monster' was actually a raccoon.
  • Jackson Pollack called Springs home in the 1940s and 1950s.  His house is now open for public tours.
  • Amagansett derives it's name from the Montaukett language and roughly translates too "place of good water".
